KADENA AIR BASE, Okinawa – Aaron Walker ran for two touchdowns and Corey Warren passed for two more, boosting Hansen to a 38-4 romp over Kinser on Saturday at Kadena’s McDonald Stadium.
With the win, the Outlaws improved to 3-1 on the season, getting within a half-game of first-place Kadena (3-0), which won by forfeit over defending champion Foster (0-3), which has yet to take the field this season due to duty commitments and transfers. The Kings fell to 1-3 with the loss.
After a scoreless first quarter, Walker got the Outlaws on the board with touchdown runs of 21 and 76 yards. It remained 12-0 through the first half.
Kinser scored two points when Hansen snapped the ball out of the end zone on a punting down. Hansen replied with Warren’s 56-yard TD pass to Shane Geitgey. The third quarter ended with the Outlaws up 18-2.
They then outscored the Kings 20-2 in the fourth quarter. Geitgey threw 29 yards for a touchdown to Rolando Brooks. Warren hit Geitgey from 52 yards out for a score and Deron Davis capped Hansen’s scoring with a 76-yard TD run. Kinser’s last two points came on a holding penalty against the Outlaws in the end zone.
Hansen is next scheduled to host Kadena at 10 a.m. Saturday at Camp Hansen’s parade ground, a game which could decide the regular-season championship and top seed in the league playoffs, which begin June 3. Foster is scheduled to face Kinser at Kadena High School’s upper field at 2 p.m.
