"Mike" Petty Memorial Track and Field MeetWhen: Friday and Saturday.Where: Mike Petty Stadium, Kubasaki High School, Camp Foster, Okinawa.What: First of two major Pacificwide regular-season invitational meets, this one involving 12 teams representing 14 schools with more than 300 athletes expected from Japan, Okinawa, South Korea, the Philippines, Taiwan and Guam.Schedule: Friday — pre-Petty for middle-school and junior-varsity athletes, 9:30 a.m.; parade of athletes, 3:30 p.m.; field events, 3:45 p.m.; 3,200, dash event preliminaries, 4:30 p.m. Saturday — finals starting at 8 a.m., "Mike’s Medley" (200, 200, 400, 800), girls 100 hurdles, boys 110 hurdles, 100, 1,600, 400 relay, 400, "Thrower’s Relay," 800, 200, 1,600 relay.Athletes to watch: Zama senior All-American Andrew Quallio is expected to shatter his mile (4:37.5) and two-mile (9:58.9) records.
