KAISERSLAUTERN MILITARY COMMUNITY, Germany – Snowed out of a two-game trip to play Kaiserslautern and Ramstein last month, the Lakenheath Lancers found the going tough even without the snow as they absorbed a 52-26 loss Friday night at K-town and a 64-35 defeat Saturday at Ramstein.

Ramstein’s DeVonte Allen did his best to make sure the Lancers had plenty of time to pack on Saturday. He scored all of his game-high 21 points in the first half as the Royals (2-1 overall) built a 45-18 lead at intermission.

Ramstein’s Jon Grotelueschen chalked up 11 points and six rebounds, Nick Nixon handed out six assists and James Cho and Anthony Sledge each snared eight rebounds at the Royals tuned up for their Tuesday night Region II opener against visiting Bitburg.

Brinsley Walker led Lakenheath (0-3 against varsity competition) with 16 points.

Lakenheath also was looking at a steep climb on Friday. The Lancers, who are to host ACS-Cobham on Wednesday, trailed 31-12 at the break against the Red Raiders.
