Michael Zambraski two-hit the Germany champion Freising Bavarians on Saturday as the Kaiserslautern Military Community All-Stars earned Germany’s berth in Little League Baseball’s European Regional tournament with a 13-1 victory in Freising, Germany.

KMC’s 11-12-year-olds banged out 14 hits, and scored six times in the first and third innings, according to Germany Little League Commissioner Klaus Helmig.

KMC won Friday night’s opening game 6-0 behind a 12-strikeout effort by winning pitcher Cameron Byrd, who was voted the tourney’s MVP after his 3-for-3 day at the plate Saturday which included two doubles, Helmig said by telephone on Saturday.

Saturday’s victory gave KMC a 2-0 sweep in the best-of-3 playoffs to decide which team would represent Germany at the European tournament in Kutno, Poland. That tournament is set for Aug. 4-12.

The winner of the European tournament will gain a berth in the Little League World Series next month in Williamsport, Pa.
