With All-Europe sophomore Janelle Loney leading the way, the Patch Lady Panthers closed the 2009 portion of their season unbeaten with a 37-25 victory Saturday at Hohenfels.

Loney, who scored 18 points in Friday night’s Region III victory at Hohenfels, struck for 21 on Saturday to help Patch to a 4-0 record going into the holiday break. Next up for the Lady Panthers is a Jan. 8 game against visiting Ansbach.

Hohenfels, a Division II school, fell to 0-4 despite 11 points from Mandy LaVanway. The Lady Tigers are idle until a Jan. 15 game at Bamberg.

In other girls games of note:

Kaiserslautern 44, Mannheim 41: Friday at Kaiserslautern, the Lady Raiders handed Mannheim its first defeat of the season behind seven points, eight rebounds and six steals from Lakenheath transfer Erica Turner, an All-Europe senior.

Shaun-Pri Davis led K-town (2-2 overall, 1-1 in Region I), which avenged a one-point Tuesday night loss at Mannheim (3-1, 1-1), with nine points. Takiara Fowlkes led the Lady Bison with a game-high 15 points.

SHAPE 51, Bitburg 39: Saturday at Mons, Belgium, Tammy Northshield scored 20 points, blocked two shots, made two steals and had two assists as the Lady Spartans completed a weekend sweep of visiting Bitburg.

Liene Bauska topped all rebounders with 11 to help SHAPE (2-2), which prevailed 45-22 on Friday night behind Bauska’s 19 points and 12 rebounds. Bitburg, which got a game-high 21 points from Alex Schmidt, opened its season with the two losses in non-regional contests.

Wiesbaden 43, Baumholder 4: Saturday at Wiesbaden, LeAmber Thomas had 14 points, 10 rebounds and seven steals as the Division I Lady Warriors handed 2009 European D-III champion Baumholder its fourth defeat in as many games.

On Friday, Thomas scored 13 points and stole the ball nine times as Wiesbaden won 48-5 in a game ended by the 40-point courtesy rule after the third quarter.

AOSR 40, Vicenza 38: Saturday at Vicenza, Italy, Martina Mannozzi scored 19 points as the unbeaten American Overseas School of Rome held off Vicenza to go to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in Region IV. Lali Baratashvili scored 17 points for Vicenza. Tatiana Miranda had 16 points for Vicenza.

Ansbach 20, BFA 19: Saturday at Ansbach, Gabby Wells scored 13 points as the Lady Cougars scraped into the winter break without a loss. Staci Thomas contributed 10 rebounds for Ansbach (4-0, 2-0 in Region III), which followed Friday’s 42-36 victory over Black Forest Academy. Thomas scored 21 in that game, and Wells tallied 17.

Brussels 26, Alconbury 6: Saturday at Brussels, All-Europe senior Kathleen Anderson accounted for 12 points and eight rebounds as the Lady Brigands opened their season by sweeping Alconbury in Region I Small Schools play. Anderson also scored 12 points, and her teammate Bria Yazzie had 14 in Friday’s 41-13 victory.
