The DODDS-Europe Division I football regular season begins next weekend. Several teams played Saturday against local national squads:

Wiesbaden 48, Hanau 0: Friday at Wiesbaden, the defending Division I champion Warriors blasted an overmatched local-national squad from Hanau.

Christian Guevra, Eric Arnold, Anthony Little and Deshon Barrow scored on the ground for the Warriors, while Arnold found CJ Pridgen and Tim Cuthbert threw to Carlos Ortiz for touchdowns through the air.

The game’s score was 48-0 by halftime; head coach Steve Jewell said the teams didn’t record stats in the second half.

Vilseck 14, Oberphals Spartans 6: Saturday at Vilseck, Gabe Lewis scored on a 23-yard run and Drew Pinckney added a two-yard scoring rush as the Falcons knocked off a local German squad.

Vilseck scored both of its touchdowns in the first half; the Spartans’ lone score came in the fourth quarter.

Lewis carried 10 times for 90 yards. Austin Archangel rushed three times for 19 yards, and Pinckney had three carries for 18 yards. Lee Mendez and Derek Davis made five tackles apiece for the Falcons.
