NAPLES, Italy -- The DODEA-Europe Division II football standings tightened Friday evening as the Vicenza Cougars edged the Naples Wildcats 14-13, leaving both teams at .500 through two weeks of the regular season.

Vicenza effectively rebounded from its season-opening 39-6 loss to Rota a week ago. Naples dropped to 1-1 after last weekend’s impressive 28-14 defeat of SHAPE.

Naples visits defending champion Spangdahlem next weekend while Vicenza is idle.

Each regular-season game carries high stakes for Division II’s seven squads. With no semifinals on the schedule this year, the division’s top two teams will advance directly to the European championship game.

Ashton Jeanty starred in defeat for Naples with 104 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries. No statistics were made available for Vicenza.
