ROTA, Spain -- The Rota Admirals won their Division II football playoff opener Saturday in decisive fashion, dismantling the visiting Hohenfels Tigers 48-6.
The Admirals will host a semifinal game next Saturday with a chance to return to the European championship game, which they lost last year to Ansbach.
Sam Gallardo ran for 108 yards and a pair of touchdowns and tossed a touchdown pass to Austin Curtice. De’Ontae Bradley posted 120 rushing yards with a score, Jake Anderson compiled 72 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns and Julian Barnes added 53 yards and a touchdown.
Hohenfels back Jaimee Bear ran for 82 yards and the Tigers’ lone touchdown.
