ANSBACH, Germany -- The Ansbach Cougars completed a dominant regular season and secured home-field advantage for the Division II quarterfinals and semifinals with a 44-13 win Saturday over the Rota Admirals.

The game was tight over the early going. Roger Brownell ran in from 6 yards out and Tyler Benton ran in the two-point conversion to give the Cougars an early edge, but Rota answered immediately on a 74-yard touchdown reception by Jake Anderson. The score stood at 8-6 just over four minutes into the game.

The Cougars, undefeated and largely unchallenged throughout the regular season, didn't let the Admirals lurk for long. Dorian Jones scored two touchdowns in quick succession, one late in the first quarter and another early in the second. The onslaught continued after halftime with Brownell's second touchdown run and Jones' third and fourth trips to the end zone.

Jones finished with 34 rushes for 226 yards; Brownell carried 11 times for 107 yards and caught a 31-yard pass. Jordan Lennon led the Ansbach defense with seven tackles, while Hiromi Iglesias added six tackles.

Andrew Halford returned an interception for a Rota touchdown. Rota's Jamel Ingram led all tacklers with 11.

Both teams advance to the Division II quarterfinals next weekend.
