The Rota Admirals cheer team were the Division III champions at the DODDS-Europe cheerleading championships, ahead of Alconbury and Incirlik. It was the fifth straight title for the Admirals, winning the now-defunct Division IV title twice and three in a row in Division III.

WIESBADEN, Germany -- Cheerleading squads from Lakenheath, Ansbach and Rota were the best in their divisions Saturday at the DODDS Europe Cheerleading Championships, held in conjunction with the girls and boys basketball tournaments.
Twenty-six teams put on 2½-minute routines before judges and supporters at a packed Wiesbaden Army Airfield Fitness Center, and were also rated on their performances at games during the tourney. In addition to selecting the top teams, judges also named all-tournament squads.
