MONS, Belgium -- The Benelux wing of DODEA-Europe Division II football produced an evenly-matched local showdown Saturday as the SHAPE Spartans edged the International School of Brussels Raiders 20-19.

Matthew Owen produced one of the most impressive quarterback performances of the season for SHAPE, completing 19 passes on 31 attempts for 202 yards and two touchdowns. Cory Oliver collected eight receptions for 115 yards and two touchdowns while adding four tackles and an interception on defense.

Anthony Gordon paced the Spartans with seven tackles.

The game was the first of the season for ISB, whose scheduled Sept. 8 opener at Aviano was postponed due to transportation issues. The Raiders are due to host Rota next weekend.

SHAPE pulls back to .500 after its opening loss to Naples. The Spartans travel to Aviano next weekend.
