The Stuttgart Panthers knocked off a defending soccer champion for the second straight week on Saturday as the school’s boys team beat the Kaiserslautern Raiders 4-1. The conquest of the reigning boys champs came a week after the Stuttgart girls routed defending European champion Wiesbaden 5-1.

Gus De Andrade totaled three goals for the Panthers, while Bradley Russell scored the team’s other goal. Tyler Jankowski, one of just a handful of holdovers from last year’s dominant Kaiserslautern squad, scored a first-half goal to keep the Raiders close through halftime.

Ramstein 1, Wiesbaden 0: Saturday at Wiesbaden, the Royals scored with seven minutes remaining to earn a gritty season-opening victory.

Chris Slover scored off an assist by Greg McMillan to produce the game’s first and only goal. Garrett Erickson turned away 12 shots in goal to preserve the Ramstein shutout.

Ramstein, the returning Division I runner-up, gets its title-game rematch with Kaiserslautern on Friday, after which the Royals will take on Stuttgart on April 14 as the Panthers attempt to record consecutive wins over 2017 finalists.

AFNORTH 6, Spangdahlem 3: Friday at Brunssum, Netherlands, the Lions turned up the offense in the second half to earn a quality Division II victory.

AFNORTH scored four goals after halftime to blow open a tight game it led 2-1 at the halftime intermission.

Lorenz Kohl scored two goals for AFNORTH, while James Barata and Alan Goldsmith each tallied a goal and two assists. Paul Kohl made six saves in goal for the Lions.

Aviano 0, Florence 0: Saturday at Florence, the Italian rivals played to a scoreless stalemate.

Both teams have tough matchups awaiting them on the other side of spring break. Aviano takes on Division I Naples, while Florence visits defending Division II champion Marymount.

SHAPE 5, Alconbury 0: Friday at Alconbury, the Spartans opened their regular season with a convincing shutout victory.

Vincenzo Lorio and Robert Laroussi Akram each scored two goals for the Spartans, while Roberto Liano distributed two assists and scored once.

Naples 10, Sigonella 0: Saturday at Naples, the Wildcats rocked the visiting Jaguars.

Nikolas Mihalik and Christian Albright each scored three goals, while Albright added an assist. Tyler Lambertson added two goals for Naples and Evan Cone had two assists.

The Wildcats put the game away early with seven goals in the first half.

American Overseas School of Rome 5, Marymount 3: Saturday at Rome, the Falcons knocked off the defending champion Royals in a rematch of Marymount’s victory in last year’s title game.

Alessandro Ianni scored three goals to pace AOSR, while Luca Baldestain and Aldo Di Biase added a goal apiece.

Marymount beat AOSR 3-2 in overtime in last year’s Division II championship match.
