NAPLES, Italy - The host Naples Wildcats persevered through nearly 90-degree heat to secure a 20-7 win over visiting Benelux squad SHAPE on Saturday. Chris Greene carried 20 times for 156 yards and a pair of touchdowns to pace the Naples offense. Ty’Rick Riggins returned a fumble for the Wildcats’ other score and racked up 94 rushing yards. Joshua Thurston led the Naples defense with six tackles and a recovered fumble. Zane Zimmerman added four tackles, a quarterback sack and a forced fumble. The Spartans were led by quarterback Brett Cain, who completed six of 12 pass attempts, and running back Seth Cain, who rushed for 80 yards. Brandon Benish made five tackles for SHAPE. The game leaves both squads at 1-1 as the playoff race begins to heat up down the stretch of the five-game regular season.
