Kaiserslautern Military Community squads Baumholder, Kaiserslautern and Ramstein secured doubleheader sweeps over the weekend to headline a largely lopsided slate of DODEA-Europe boys basketball.

Baumholder 55/74, Ansbach 37/45: At Baumholder, the Bucs maintained their undefeated Division III and overall records.

Baumholder scored the first 12 points of Friday’s second half to pull away in the opener. Daryon Jones and Chandler Pigge tied for game-high totals with 15 points apiece for the Bucs.

A 29-point explosion from Ansbach’s Kevin Kamara increased the degree of difficulty Saturday, but the Bucs were again up to the challenge. Pigge scored 24 points and Andrew Carter posted a 12-point, 16-rebound double-double to pace Baumholder.

Kaiserslautern 58/77, SHAPE 41/50: At Kaiserslautern, the Raiders shook off a Division I swoon with a pair of strong divisional victories.

Tre Dotson totaled 34 points and Isiah Washington went for 30 points over the two games to lead the Raiders, who had lost two of three Division I matchups entering the weekend.

Kaiserslautern now heads into a rematch with local archrival Ramstein on Tuesday. The Raiders won the teams’ first matchup 51-33 on Dec. 5.

Ramstein 57/66, Vilseck 53/57: At Vilseck, the reigning Division I champions survived a stiff challenge from the host Falcons.

Standout big man Naser Eaves paced the Royals to the two tough single-digit wins. Eaves poured in a game-high 25 points as the visitors overcame a halftime deficit Friday, then posted 15 points in a wire-to-wire Saturday win.

Jonas Matthews scored a combined 26 points to pace the Falcons.

Naples 62/56, Aviano 46/48: At Naples, the Wildcats recorded a sweep of their tough Italian rivals.

Tye Thompson posted eye-popping numbers in leading Naples to the sweep. He recorded a double-double with 25 points and 14 rebounds Friday, then followed Saturday with a triple-double including 19 points, 13 rebounds and 11 steals.

That was enough to eclipse Aviano’s Mason Shine, who scored 25 and 20 points, respectively, in the Saint setbacks.

Black Forest 57/77, Hohenfels 38/48: At Hohenfels, the reigning Division II champions recorded a pair of substantial victories.

Kaden Proctor led Friday’s rout with 15 points and nine rebounds. Dillon Priest totaled 16 points, five assists and five steals on Saturday to round out the sweep.

Hohenfels’ Wade Cooper scored 20 points on Friday to produce the weekend’s high single-game point total.

Sigonella 52/44, American Overseas School of Rome 39/34: At Sigonella, the defending DIvision III champions picked up a pair of defeats of the Division II Falcons.

Isaac Griswold scored 25 points and Alex Ogletree posted a 14-point, 12-rebound double-double to power Friday’s win. Connor Smithgall scored 15 points and Griswold produced 11 points and nine rebounds to fuel the sweep-clinching Saturday win.

AFNORTH 58/36, Alconbury 34/38: At Alconbury, the Dragons recovered from a blowout loss with a hard-fought Saturday win.

David Mitchell scored 22 points and Luke Priestman added 18 to power AFNORTH’s opening rout. The Lions outscored Alconbury 31-15 after halftime to secure the win.

A 10-3 second-quarter run put the Dragons in position to even the series Saturday. Ethan Cordero produced a game-high 15 points to lead the gritty win.
