The Kaiserslautern Military Community All-Stars ran into a Taiwanese buzz saw Thursday in their opening game at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa.The All-Stars, champions of Europe, managed just one hit in a 14-1 loss to Asia-Pacific champion Kuei-Shan Little League of Taoyuan, Taiwan. It was the first loss of the season for KMC, which swept unbeaten through its district, Germany and European Regional tournaments en route to Williamsport.Starter Justin Wilson took the loss for KMC. He pitched two-and-one-third innings, allowing seven hits and nine runs. He struck out eight and walked seven.Kyle Glenn singled for KMC’s lone hit in the game, which ended after four innings because of the 10-run rule.The loss landed the All-Stars in a Saturday elimination game against Caribbean champion Pariba Little League of Willemstad, Curacao. The Netherlands Antilles team dropped a 7-0 verdict to Japan champion Kitasuna Little League of Tokyo on Thursday.KMC’s game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, Central European Time.
