Marksmanship teams from DODEA-Europe schools Kaiserslautern and Stuttgart represented themselves well at the recent Joint Service JROTC Marksmanship National Championship event in Anniston, Ala.

The event included the top five performing teams from each of the Army, Marines and Navy, along with two Air Force teams.

Kaiserslautern, one of the Air Force entries, finished seventh overall. That put the Raiders ahead of all five Army teams, including Stuttgart. That result earned Kaiserslautern some redemption after Stuttgart extended its DODEA-Europe dynasty with a win in this winter’s European marksmanship championship meet.

The finish earned by Kaiserslautern shooters Isabelle Ploechinger, Jazmyn Taylor, Juliana Hosey and Paola Zorrilla places the squad within the top 5 percent of the hundreds of marksmanship teams that embarked on the competition, a process that includes a set of qualification scores sent remotely and a service championship ahead of the Joint Championships, which took place March 21-23 at the Civilian Marksmanship Program Shooting Center in Anniston.
