HOHENFELS, Germany – The reigning Division II European champion Hohenfels Tigers survived the toughest test of their title defense to date Saturday with a 40-28 victory over the visiting Naples Wildcats.

David Vidovic turned in a prolific game even by his own inflated standards, carrying 25 times for 369 yards and touchdown runs of 92, 74 and 40 yards. He added a fourth touchdown on a 90-yard kickoff return.

Clayton Pinheiro and Trey Briscoe scored a touchdown apiece to supplement Vidovic’s onslaught and secure the victory.

Chris Greene played the hero for Naples, gathering 197 yards on the ground and scoring on runs of 46 and 67 yards. Kory McKinney added 67 rushing yards and a touchdown for the Wildcats.

Some tackling did take place in between the offensive fireworks. Naples’ Zane Zimmerman got his hands on a game-high seven tackles, while Brandon Schull, Andrew Chavez and Alex McCready made six apiece for the Tigers.
