Heidelberg battled through a halftime deficit and miserable winter weather to earn a 3-2 comeback boys soccer victory Saturday at Wiesbaden.

The Lions scored all of their goals in the second half to negate the Warriors’ seemingly-comfortable 2-0 halftime edge. Trevor Carr blasted in a penalty kick in the closing minutes to complete the rally and earn his second goal of the game.

Vince Harrington notched the other goal for Heidelberg. Dennis Ringgold and John Arnold each scored for Wiesbaden.

Nick Reid was valiant in goal for the Warriors, racking up 15 saves. Lions counterpart Justin Hunter had eight of his own.

Vilseck 7, Bamberg 0: At Bamberg, the Falcons flashed early-season promise in a thorough rout of the host Barons.

Lewis Gabriel (three goals), Marquis Doctor-Smith (two goals, assists), and Sage Thornbrough (goal, two assists) provided the bulk of the offense for Vilseck, while Abdullah Johnson earned a four-save shutout in goal.

AOSR 10, Aviano 0: At Aviano, the Falcons scored five goals in each half in a runaway victory.

Francesco Dinsmore accounted for five of AOSR’s goals; Lucas Miller added two and Jacopo Ciufoli, Christian Caaner and Alessandro Elia finished the job.

Aviano’s Dundree Peoples and Cody Maglio made five saves apiece in goal.

Ramstein 3, Kaiserslautern 0: At Ramstein, the Royals handled their neighboring rivals in convincing fashion.

Lorenzo Rodriguez, Jay Sykes and Lee DeBose scored for Ramstein; DeBose, Cameron Hansen and Alexander Mitchell notched assists.

Schweinfurt 3, Ansbach 1: At Schweinfurt, the Razorbacks’ co-ed squad scored a pair of second-half goals to break a tie.

Schweinfurt’s Tricia Valverde found Tristin Mansfield to open the scoring, and Taylor Baumgartner centered a pass to midfielder Marissa Speakman for a go-ahead goal after halftime. Mansfield added another goal late as the Razorbacks prevented Ansbach from a clear shot on goal in the second half.

Florence 3, Sigonella 2: At Florence, the defending Division III champions withstood a two-goal game from All-Europe midfielder Brian Thomas.
