KANDERN, Germany — Jonathas Florencio scored 10 seconds into the game, then added the decisive goal in the second half Saturday as the Black Forest Academy Falcons edged the Mannheim Bison, 3-2, in a non-regional soccer game between Division II schools.Mannheim, playing its final season of all time, responded to Florencio’s game-opening stunner with first-half goals by Karsten Klink and Brandon Wiley to go ahead 2-1 at halftime.

BFA’s Garrett Prewitt, however, got the Falcons even after intermission to set the stage for Florencio’s clincher.“It was a tough game,” BFA coach Chris Greathouse said by telephone. “Mannheim is a strong team. They played hard.”The game was the season-opener for both teams. They’re scheduled to open their regional campaigns on Saturday. BFA is to visit fellow Region IIL Division II school Hohenfels, and Mannheim is slated for a Region II test against Kaiserslautern of Division I.
