ANSBACH, Germany – Senior DeMar Flake ran for 298 yards and four touchdowns Friday night to lead the Ansbach Cougars to a 70-14 victory over the Future Pro All-Star Eagless of the German league.Flake scored on runs of 47, 51, 41 and 66 yards, and his classmate, quarterback Jake Voorhees, threw touchdown passes of 66, 20 and five yards to senor Xavier Cage as the Cougars rebounded from a 50-36 road loss last Saturday to three-time defending European D-II champion Bitburg. For the game, Voorhees completed five-of-seven passes for 136 yards.Sophomore Dorian Jones, who rushed four times for 99 net yards, crashed the party the Cougar seniors were throwing by scoring on runs of 15 and 83 yards, and tackling an Eagle ball carrier in the end zone for a safety.Ansbach, which led 24-0 at the end of one period and 46-6 at intermission, got seven tackles from Cage, five from Damien Quichocho and four from Jonnie Lawler. Cage numbered three tackles for losses and a sack among his stops, according to Ansbach assistant Scott Pleake.FPAS quarterback marvin Schaller rushed for 67 yards and completed a 45-yard TD pass to Cedric Dorsey. Ugur Mersun chalked up the other Eagles’ TD on an eight yard run.Next up for Ansbach is its Division II-South conference opener on Sept. 29 when it is to host Vicenza.
