RAF LAKENHEATH, England -- Dequan Reed ran for 92 yards and two touchdowns, and Keyshawn Green added a TD and 96 yards rushing Saturday to fuel the Wiesbaden Warriors’ 21-6 season-opening Division-I victory over the Lakenheath Lancers.According to Wiesbaden coach Steve Jewell, Reed’s second TD, a 20-yard run in the third quarter, cemented the victory for the defending European Division I champions.It came on a first-down play after Wiesbaden punter Dennis Ringgold pulled the ball down on a fourth-and six play from the Lancers’ 45-yard line and ran it 25 yards for the first down.“He saw the punt was going to be blocked, so he pulled the ball back and ran,” Jewell said by telephone Saturday night. “We teach our punters to do that if they think the kick will be blocked.”Carlos Grinter was four-of-nine for 98 yards passing for Wiesbaden, which is to host Patch on Saturday. Ray Lewis snared two of the completions, good for 57 yards.Xavier Thompson, who would end the game with 93 yards on 19 rushes, scored Lakenheath’s TD in the fourth quarter. His output was hard-earned against the Warriors’ defense, which got a pass interception from Andre Murray and eight tackles each from Seth Craft and Daniel Mattner.Lakenheath’s Ben Ciero led all tacklers with nine stops. Nick Winkie added eight and Kyle Capogna seven for the Lancers, who travel to Filton on Saturday.
