BRUSSELS, Belgium – Michael Trujillo threw two touchdown passes to Andrew Bert, and Alex Ramos ran for Aviano’s other two touchdowns Saturday to lift the Saints to a 28-22 non-conference victory over the International School of Brussels Raiders.Aviano, which plays in Division II-South, was trailing 15-14 at halftime, according to ISB coach Will Vreugdenhil, but shrugged off the effects of the midnight arrival of their bus to rally to the victory in the season-opening game for both teams.Trujillo and Bert also connected for a successful two-point conversion pass for Aviano, which is scheduled to open its conference campaign Saturday against visiting Vicenza.Marshall Kontos, who finished the day eight-of-16 passing for 80 yards and two touchdowns, threw four of his completions to Tim Overeem. Overeem pulled in both TD passes for Division II-North contender ISB, which continues its non-conference schedule Saturday at Naples.Pearce Keesling, who rushed the ball 13 times for 99 yards, ran for ISB’s other TD; his backfield mate Fernando Torrijos gained 79 yards on 14 rushes.Overeem and Torrijos led the ISB defensive charge with six tackles each; Aviano’s Elijah Smith forced a fumble to stand out for the Saints on that side of the ball.
