The Department of Defense Dependents Schools-Europe announced the final regular-season football standings Monday for Europe’s Division II and III high schools, setting the stage for this weekend’s playoff games.
Bitburg (3-1 conference) claimed No. 1 in Division II-North because of its victory Friday over No. 2 Baumholder (3-1).
Bitburg will host South No. 4 Würzburg (2-2), and South No. 3 Aviano (2-2) will visit Baumholder. Both games will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday.
South champion Naples (4-0 in league play) will host the No. 4 team from the North, SHAPE (1-3) at 1 p.m. Saturday, the same time South No. 2 Vilseck (2-2) is to entertain North No. 3 International School of Brussels (2-2).
Saturday in Division III, North champion AFNORTH (5-0) hosts South No. 4 Bamberg (2-3), and South champ Ansbach (5-0) hosts North No. 4 Menwith Hill (2-3).
North No. 2 Rota (4-1) entertains South No. 3 Hohenfels (3-2), the defending European D-III champion, and South runner-up Hanau (4-1), which won the European D-II crown last year, is at home against North No. 3 Brussels (3-2). All D-III playoff games are scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m.
Division I’s season concludes Saturday with Ramstein (4-0), Patch (3-1) and Heidelberg (3-1) assured of playoff berths. Lakenheath (0-4), which hosts Ramstein, Kaiserslautern (1-3) and Wiesbaden (0-4), which plays at K-town, will vie for the final slot.
