A youth hockey team from Stuttgart, Germany, took 12th place in the Ramada Cup 2012, an international tournament Friday and Saturday in Halle, Germany.

Two Americans played for Stuttgarter E.C.: Alexander Ballou, a freshman at Patch High School, and Hunter Rehn, a Robinson Barracks Middle School student.

Ballou had four goals and two assists in five games.

Stuttgart opened with a scoreless tie against the Espoo Blues, then dropped a 3-0 decision to ESC Hassfurt. It earned its lone victory of the tournament Friday by beating HOBA Bratislava 2-1 behind goals from Ballou and Ben Da Hou.

On Saturday, Ballou scored a goal but Stuttgart lost 5-1 to ETC Crimmitshau. Ballou scored two goals and had assists on two of Stefan Koch’s three goals, but Stuttgart lost 6-5 to EHC Dortmund.
