BAUMHOLDER, Germany - The AFNORTH Lions posted their first win of the season, a 22-16 victory over visiting Baumholder on Saturday, led by the running of Dante Brown and the passing of Jacob Reynolds.

Brown carried 11 times for 122 yards and scored AFNORTH’s third TD on an 11-yard run, and Reynolds, who finished the day 5-for-7 passing for 95 yards, completed a 25-yard TD pass to Nathan Flynn in the second quarter which put the Lions (1-3) ahead for good. For the day, Flynn snagged four passes for 88 yards.

Tony Legare, who rushed eight times for 42 yards, chalked up the first TD for AFNORTH on a 3-yard run.

James Milledge gave the Bucs (2-2) an early lead on a 2-yard TD run, but Baumholder wasn’t able to dent the end zone again until Prince Owusu’s 50-yard TD scamper in the final period. A two-point conversion pass cut Baumholder’s deficit to 20-16, but the Bucs fumbled the ball out of their end zone for a safety on their next possession to make the final count 22-16 in this Division II-North game.

Next up for Baumholder is a near-must-win game Saturday at undefeated Bitburg. AFNORTH, already eliminated from the postseason, hosts SHAPE on Saturday.
