I was in Balad, Iraq, for six months. While stationed there I noticed many murals painted on the T-walls to fallen servicemembers around the base. Is anything being done to preserve them, as in shipping them back, prior to the turnover [of facilities to Iraq]?

I understand that they are heavy structures, and it would be cost-prohibitive to move most of them. I also know that there have been photos taken of most or many of them, but that’s just not the same thing, is it? It wouldn’t carry the same weight if people walked into the museum and saw giant pictures of planes and lunar modules hanging from the ceiling.
