A letter to the editor, “Now a ‘warrior companion’?” (April 29) referred to an Army message that announced the term "battle buddy" is changing to "warrior companion."

A message purporting to quote the announcement was posted on Facebook, but Army officials said there is no record of such an Army message.

“Our conclusion is that this appears to be fake,” said Army spokesman Gary Tallman.
