I am deeply grateful for [Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff] Adm. Mike Mullen making his point and insisting that the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs give their everything to take care of the wounded warriors who — so far — unfortunately still do not receive the care they deserve ("Mullen frustrated with PTSD outreach," article, Sept. 17).
These wars [in Afghanistan and Iraq] have been going on for far too many years for the government to still not be able to grant appropriate mental health care. This is embarrassing for the government and a complete disaster for wounded warriors and their families affected by post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries.
It’s time to stand up and show respect to those who chose to defend their country’s freedom and gave their everything.
