I am contacting you about Alessandra Bosco, the soldier’s spouse who did a 2009 calendar for the troops in war zones. I read her story in Stars and Stripes a while back.

As a retired paratrooper, I can say that what this young lady has done is very important for troops’ morale. She was kind enough to send 50 calendars free to my son and his friends in Iraq when they were deployed, because the Army and Air Force Exchange Service store there ran out of copies.

I found out through my son that Bosco donated money to a center for children with cancer and to an organization that supports disabled veterans, but that was not mentioned in your paper. Her generosity needs to be recognized, not taken for granted. She’s also the spouse of one of our soldiers and you should salute her for the work and support she has given to those away from home.

I hope you will consider writing an update story on this young lady.
