Many of us are becoming disgusted with people like the writer of "Joe ‘had the guts to speak out’" (letter, Sept. 16) who, like his mentor [Republican South Carolina Rep.] Joe Wilson, like to bark but don’t bite.

Instead of Wilson disrespecting our president on national television, he should support him and assist him in finding solutions to the issues at hand. Don’t be part of the problem, be part of the solution.

Oh, by the way, I am not politically inclined toward any party; just wanted to clear that up.

So here’s a spontaneous statement: "Barack Obama for re-election!" ("Lawmakers denounce S.C. rep’s ‘lie’ outburst," article, Sept. 11).

Good on ya, Joe. You’re the only one up there who demonstrated lack of self-discipline, disrespect and, above all, ignorance.
