I had to read the Oct. 26 letter on health care ("It’s an individual ‘responsibility’") a few times to see if I could detect an attempt at irony. As the beneficiary of free health care, the letter writer questions the need for health coverage for all citizens of our great country? Now I understand why this issue is generating so much debate.

If I compare the system of health care provided to the South Korean citizens to that provided to U.S. citizens, I wonder what is wrong with this picture? We are the number one country in the world, yet we can’t provide basic health care at a reasonable cost (or free)? These are just a couple of questions of the many that exist in this discussion.
