This is in response to "Pushing ‘a proper morality’" (letter, Feb. 23). I believe it is the opposite. I believe the gay agenda is pushing its special rights on the society.

Natural law dictates that the natural mate for a man is a woman, and the natural mate for a woman is a man.

God created us male and female, not male and male. If that were the case, the human race would be extinct.

So what do we say to those who are homosexual? We do not condone their act; we can love them. The Catholic Church teaches that people who have same-sex attractions must "live the life of chastity." If the Senate decides to lift "don’t ask, don’t tell," you might see the U.S. military sponsoring Gay Rights History Month. I am sure those in the services who are practicing Catholics, or other Christians who do not agree with homosexual behavior, will feel uncomfortable, and I am sure they might get counseling for not agreeing with the new policy about openly gay military servicemembers.

It would be better to leave "don’t ask, don’t tell" [in place]. I do not wish to know who is homosexual in my unit.
