Regarding "Foregone fighters?" (article, Jan. 10), about the costs and benefits of the F-22 and F-35, I would be perfectly willing to give them up so long as the Russians and Chinese also give up development of their fifth-generation fighter projects and we get corroborating evidence.

No? Then keep building the F-35 and buy more F-22s, or else be frozen into air-to-air inferiority.
