Regarding the Aug. 13 letter “Recycling poster offensive”: The writer, who compares an artistic poster of the American flag made out of garbage to the Quran, is comparing apples to oranges. Why make this “Islamic” comparison? Why use the Quran instead of something else?

The attitude toward the very people we are helping is being hurt by anti-Muslim letters such as this one. As the old saying goes, “God, Country, Corps.”
