In the United Kingdom we have just remembered those who have fallen in the defense of their country and the Free World.

As a former noncommissioned officer in the light infantry (rifles), I often think of my friends who have been killed in action with great sadness. I would like to let the U.S. service people know that we here in the U.K. are behind you, and when we think of our own killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, we also think of you.

It is terrible to hear of the high rate of casualties suffered by the U.S. and the U.K., and my heart goes out to all their families and loved ones.

British and American armed forces are setting the way for a greater free world, and I salute you all for this and your continued bravery in the face of death. God bless you all and thank you.
