I couldn’t help but respond to "Gays issue a matter of logic" (letter, March 8).

Seriously? Don’t let homosexuals serve because they’ll spread AIDS if injured? I realize this is a topic many people struggle with, but that is ridiculous.

Please let me know if anyone thinks twice about rendering aid to injured soldiers because they are gay/lesbian, and I will recommend that person be discharged rather than the homosexual.

First of all, we all need to realize we serve with homosexuals every day. They’re just not allowed to be open about it. The other issue is a matter of semantics, gays are male homosexuals, lesbians are female homosexuals. Let’s stop being ignorant and calling everyone gay.

I won’t even touch the topic of bisexuals and transgender. I’m sure half of the people who argue against homosexuals wouldn’t appreciate being called out and possibly discharged from the military when we found out they were watching, and thoroughly enjoying, girl-on-girl porn. Isn’t that engaging in homosexual behaviors? Touche.
