AVIANO AIR BASE, Italy – Brig. Gen. Scott J. Zobrist took command of the 31st Fighter Wing in a ceremony Friday presided over by Lt. Gen. Frank Gorenc, commander of the 3rd Air Force.

Zobrist, most recently commander of the 388th Fighter Wing at Hill Air Force Base in Utah, is starting his third tour at Aviano. His last assignment in Italy was as commander of the 31st Operations Group from 2005 to 2007.

Brig. Gen. Charles Q. Brown is leaving to become deputy director-operations at U.S. Central Command headquarters at MacDill Air Force Base in Florida.
