YONGSAN GARRISON, South Korea — Hundreds of Yongsan residents flooded the Child Development Center’s parking lot Saturday to attend a Community Fun Fair.

Eskeletha Dorsey, Child and Youth Services School Liaison Officer and fair organizer, said the fair was held to help celebrate the Month of the Military Child.

“I’m happy with the turnout and all sponsors,” Dorsey said.

She estimated at least 500 people had attended between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.; the fair was scheduled to end at 3 p.m.

T-shirts were given to the first 200 visitors, who found live music, community service booths, games and plenty of food.

Lt. Col. Robert Quackenbush and his family sat down to a quick meal of hot dogs shortly after arriving.

He thanked local leadership who “really put out a lot of effort,” in hosting the fair.

And VFW Post 11016 was on hand to give away four bicycles. VFW members guessed at least 300 kids entered the drawing.
