U.S. military community members are being warned to avoid civil gatherings at Seoul City Hall plaza over the weekend, according to U.S. Forces Korea.

The National Conference for Opposition to Importing U.S. Mad Cow Diseased Beef planned to conduct candlelight vigils in the plaza Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Korean police expect a large number of participants and believe the vigils could turn into "illegal demonstrations," according to a warning on www.usfk.mil.

Call DSN 738-8070 or commercial 0505-738-8070 for updated information on civil gatherings.
