SEOUL — While North Korea is hoping for some American guests, U.S. Forces Korea personnel will not be allowed to attend an upcoming festival.
North Korea wants U.S. citizens to attend the country’s Arirang Games Festival, which begins in April, according to a Yonhap News report on Wednesday.
But a USFK spokesman confirmed that troops, Department of Defense civilians, invited contractors, technical representatives and all family members are prohibited from traveling to North Korea, according to USFK Policy Letter No. 35.
