U.S. Army Alaska will welcome a new commanding general Friday.
Maj. Gen. Bryan Owens will take command from Maj. Gen. Michael H. Shields during a ceremony at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson’s Pershing Field, according to an Army statement.
Owens comes to Alaska from Germany, where he served at European Command as director of plans and operations, the statement said.
