WORLINGTON — A 79-year-old woman was robbed of her pension money March 16 in a distraction burglary in the village of Worlington, just outside Mildenhall, according to a Suffolk County Constabulary release.

The incident occurred about 1:10 p.m., when two white men with Irish accents, one in his 30s and the other in his 40s, knocked on the woman’s door and claimed that her water needed to be shut off. While she challenged one for identification, the other searched a cupboard and found the cash, the report stated.

Wood chipper clipped from Market Weston barnMARKET WESTON — Police are looking for witnesses or information in the theft of a Timberwolf wood chipper worth 13,000 pounds (about $26,500) stolen from a barn in Market Weston, outside of Thetford, on March 16.

The barn was broken into sometime between 5 and 9:30 p.m., and the bright-orange chipper was stolen, according to a Suffolk police report.

Reward offered for information on stolen televisionsHUNTINGDON — A hefty reward has been offered to anyone who can help return a “substantial number” of the 776 televisions stolen from a truck March 14 on the A14, Cambridgeshire police announced last week.

A sum of 5,000 pounds (about $10,000) has been put up for information leading to the recovery of the TVs, taken when three men hijacked the truck at 2:45 a.m., drove it to the town of Merseyside and emptied it of the TVs, retailing for a total of 292,484 pounds ($570,340), according to a police news report.

Women involved in schoolyard brawlMARCH — Cambridgeshire police are looking for information on a fight March 16 between two women outside a primary school in the town of March, near Downham Market, according to a police news release.

The incident occurred about 3:20 p.m. when an apparent “heated argument” turned violent and one woman allegedly hit the other and nearly knocked a 3-year-old child to the ground, according to the release. A number of parents were in the area at the time.

Anyone who witnessed the altercation is encouraged to call the March police station at 0845 456 4564.

Police link two crimes, each with a masked attackerOXFORD — Thames Valley police are appealing for information in two attacks that they suspect were linked involving a man wearing a skeleton mask similar to the one from the horror film “Scream.”

The first incident took place March 12 when a man was chased through a park by two men — one wearing the mask — then kicked after he’d fallen, according to a news release. The victim dislocated his shoulder.

The second involved two men on a bike path who were confronted by a man in a similar mask wielding a knife and demanding cash. One of the men used his bike to fend off the attacker, the release stated.
