NEWMARKET — A door was broken down and removed sometime during the night of Feb. 28-March 1 at a sewage treatment plant in Newmarket in what police have classified as an attempted burglary.

Sewage works in the town have been repeated targets of thieves who have, in the past, stolen heavy equipment from the public works department, said Suffolk County Constabulary spokeswoman Lisa Crane.

Anyone with information about the break-in is asked to call Newmarket Police at 01284-774-100.

Police: Heroin found at scene of deaths was normal strengthLOWESTOFT — Initial toxicology tests on drugs found at the scene where a 28-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman were found dead in Lowestoft indicated that the heroin was of typical strength, police said Friday.

The drugs also did not have any unusual additives, according to the police.

The Suffolk County Constabulary announcement followed a Thursday warning to drug users in the area about the deaths, suspected to have been caused by overdoses, and the local drug supply.

Police are looking for more information about drug sales in Lowestoft, and ask anyone with information to call 0800 253253.

Two teens arrested after fire damages primary schoolBICESTER — Two teenage boys were arrested and released on bail last week in the suspected arson at a primary school in Bicester, near RAF Croughton, according to a news release from the Thames Valley Police.

The two boys were arrested after a Feb. 28 fire at the Longfields County Primary School damaged the building and roof, according to the release. The boys, ages 15 and 17, were arrested later in the week.

Police search for witnesses to fight outside hotelMILDENHALL — Police are looking for anyone who witnessed a fight outside the White Hart Hotel in the early hours of Feb. 25.

Two men received minor stab wounds and another suffered a cut to the head in the incident, according to a Suffolk County Constabulary news release.

Police are looking for a white male in his 30s, around 5 feet 9 inches tall with a stocky build and dark hair and wearing jeans and a dark shirt, the release stated.
