YOKOSUKA NAVAL BASE, Japan — Navy officials reported Monday that both of the sailors involved in an altercation more than a week ago appear to have stab wounds.

Officials reported last week that two sailors were involved in an off-base incident that left both injured. Officials provided no additional information beyond that one of the sailors appeared to have injuries consistent with a stab wound.

Navy officials are investigating the incident, in which, they said, no Japanese nationals appear to have been involved.

Both sailors, assigned to Carrier Strike Group 5, required medical care; however, both are back at work, strike group officials said.
