With a little bit of luck — or fortuitous planning — troops downrange can be eligible for a contest in which the winner will receive a trip for two to the World Wrestling Entertainment’s annual Wrestlemania show.

The “Four Star Furlough Sweepstakes” includes round-trip airfare for two to Detroit, four nights in a hotel, two tickets to Wrestlemania 23 and $500 in spending money.

The contest is being co-sponsored by the Army and Air Force Exchange Service.

The catch is that the trip is based on travel from the United States or Puerto Rico.

So, in order to be eligible, troops downrange will have to be home during the time frame of the event.

“If a deployed servicemember is scheduled for R&R (rest and recuperation) and will be back in the States on April 1, they can log on and register at AAFES and WWE will fly them to Detroit from anywhere in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico,” said Chris Ward, a spokesman with AAFES in Dallas.

Ward noted that troops returning from a deployment who will be home by April 1 are also eligible for the contest.

The contest is open to all authorized AAFES shoppers who are at least 13 years old and reside in the United States or Puerto Rico.

Entry forms can be found at www.aafes.com and must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. EST on March 12, officials said.
