The program is open to military family members ages 14-22 who are interested in earning $5.50 an hour doing clerical, manual labor and child development work. Applicants must be unmarried dependents of active duty servicemembers or DOD civilians. Local national dependents will be paid 4.50 euros an hour, according to USAREUR spokesperson.

Applicants must be age 14 by June 20, and must not reach 23 before July 29, according to U.S. Army Europe spokesperson.

“The Summer Hire program is designed to provide young people an opportunity to gain meaningful job experience and prepare for their future education and career goals,” Clarence “Sonny” Acklin, the human resources provider for the organization is quoted as saying in the release.

Online applications are available at the CHRA-E Web site, https://cpolrhp.cpol.army.mil/eur/ , under “Employment.” Hard copies of the documents must also be submitted to the Civilian Personnel Advisory Centers at respective locations.
