KADENA AIR BASE, Okinawa — A memorial service was held Thursday for Senior Airman Kristine A. Polastre, who was found dead in her dormitory room Tuesday.

Ed Gulick, spokesman for the 18th Wing, said the death was under investigation.

Polastre, 28, of Fredericksburg, Va., was a contracting specialist assigned to the 18th Contracting Squadron.

“We are all saddened by the tragic loss of one of our team members,” said Brig. Gen. Ken Wilsbach, 18th Wing commander. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Airman Polastre at this incredibly difficult time.”
