SEOUL — An Army sergeant took top honors in a Korean speech contest Wednesday on Yongsan Garrison, according to 8th Army officials.

Sgt. Richard Kripplebauer of the 532 Military Intelligence Battalion took first place in the ninth annual speech contest hosted by the Republic of Korea Army Support Group.

South Korean elementary school student Noh Hae-ji, part of a group of fifth- and sixth-graders, took first place in the English speech contest.
