Formal dresses, tuxedos, fancy dinners and football.

Homecoming season has hit American high schools worldwide, and Department of Defense Dependents Schools in Japan, Okinawa and Korea are no different.

Although the Pacific homecoming season kicked off last Friday in Taegu, South Korea, the most active time is yet to come.

Next week, four high schools celebrate their alumni and school spirit with activities, football and formal dances.

Osan American High School in Osan, South Korea, kicks off its spirit this week Friday with “Class Colors Day.” Homecoming activities continue Oct. 14 and culminate Oct. 18 with a football game against Seoul American High School and a formal dance.

Kadena on Okinawa and Yokota and Zama high schools in Japan also celebrate homecoming next week.

Kadena and Yokota begin activities Oct. 14 and wrap up with football games and dances Oct. 18. Zama’s schedule is similar, but its homecoming game is Oct. 17.

Matthew C. Perry High School at Iwakuni Marine Corps Station, Japan, celebrates homecoming Oct. 20-25. And Kinnick High School of Yokosuka Naval Base, Japan, marks the occasion Oct. 31.

And at least one school — Pusan American School of Pusan, South Korea — celebrates homecoming in the spring.

Camp Walker’s Taegu American School celebrated last week with a parade, bonfire, football game and formal dance.

Information was not immediately available for homecoming festivities at E.J. King High School on Sasebo Naval Base, Japan, or Kubasaki High School on Okinawa.
