The free LeAnn Rimes concert scheduled for Friday in Vilseck, Germany, has been canceled because she is ill.

“She is at the very end of a long commercial tour,” according to Jim Sohre, Installation Management Agency-Europe entertainment director.

“She sought medical attention in England, and [doctors] recommended that she not perform.”

The concert had been the scheduled second stop on a visit to U.S. military bases in Germany. She also was to perform at Ramstein Air Base on Thursday in conjunction with the Air Force’s 57th birthday, which was Sept. 18.

That performance was to continue with an abbreviated, 30-minute performance, according to Sohre.

Rimes was scheduled to meet with soldiers and sign autographs for soldiers and families before and after the concert Friday in Vilseck.

“She sends her regrets and best wishes, but she cannot perform [the Vilseck concert],” Sohre said.
